Prayers From Heaven

You remember the old prayer. Maybe your mother shared it with you, or your grandmother. I found the prayer on a carousel of holy cards in a Catholic bookstore years ago. It was written by Mary Dixon Thayer and was Bishop Fulton Sheen's favorite prayer, so I'm told. Perhaps it is yours, too. Here it is sung with simple piano accompaniment.

Lovely Lady Dressed In Blue

Lovely lady dressed in blue, teach me how to pray.
God was once your little boy, tell me what to say.
Did you lift Him up sometimes gently on your knee?
Did you sing to Him the way that my mother does to me?

Did you hold His hand at night? Did you ever try
Telling stories of the world? Oh, and did He cry?
Do you really think He cares if I tell Him things,
Little things that happen and do the angel's wings
Make a noise?

Can He hear me if I speak low?
Can He understand me now, you know?
Lovely lady, tell me, for you know.

Lovely Lady
I was inspired by this poem and song to create a rosary to reflect its sentiment and beauty. This white rosary reminds us of Mary's purity accented by the blue we associate her with. Here the 6mm Ave beads are white glass cat's eyes. The Paters are 6mm fluted sapphire blue glass accented with pewter daisy caps. All are strung on super strong beading string with ends dabbed in jewelry cement. A pewter 1" Miraculous Medal center and 1 1/2" crucifix. Length of whole rosary is 18." SOLD
